The Madonna of the shipwreck, is the first summer festival which is celebrated in Villasimius.
Who has had the opportunity to participate, will confirm how strongly felt and loved both the event, held in suffrage and remember all the sailors and fishermen who died, many a time, off and around Capo Carbonara.
Celebration attaches strongly to the origins of the same town, whose economy was strongly linked to the often cruel and dangerous fishing.
The celebration is held the third Saturday of July.
In the afternoon, the statue of the Virgin is accompanied on a cart pulled by oxen at the plaza of the port, where all night festivities of all kinds will follow, accompanied by wine tastings, dancing and folklore shows.
The morning following a large group of boats laden with flowers is directed at the island of Cavoli.
